Here comes a new season. Wonder how did you enjoy series of this Winter. We’ve fallen in love with several outstanding stories during the earlier period of the year, and we’ve had fun. Of course, we cannot fail to mention some of their names like Mikakunin de Shinkoukei (未確認で進行形), the one just ended yesterday at 12th episode, Buddy Complex (バディ・コンプレックス) which was scheduled to have a second cour after the final episode next week. And of course some of them are going to continue airing through this Spring like Nisekoi (ニセコイ). If you haven’t watched some of them, maybe it’s about time. Check out our watching guide for new series in this winter.
As for the new spring season, as usual, we have loads of good stories just a week ahead of us and for some of which we have already waited for even a year. The Second season of Date A Live is definitely one of the most expected, but you might also remember Mushishi (蟲師) which recently had its OVA aired at the beginning of the year. Personally I was also expecting the second season of Love Live! which I enjoyed very much. And of course,Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (魔法科高校の劣等生) is also one of the widely discussed series of the season. Now let’s jump to the list.
Usa, a high-school student aspiring to begin a bachelor lifestyle, moves into a new apartment only to discover that he not only shares a room with a perverted roommate that has an obsession for underaged girls, but also that another girl, Ritsu, a love-at-first-sight, is living in the same building as well!
The story is set at Myoujou Academy, a private girls’ boarding school. The 10th year’s Kurogumi class has 12 assassins with their sights on one target, Haru Ichinose. Tokaku Azuma is a recent transfer student who is also targeting Ichinose, but she gradually develops feelings for Ichinose.
Alka is an assassin for the Clan of the Sword. She’s on a journey to find the woman Jin Valel, who killed her master Hon. Jin is a demon-like woman who controls the Energy of Chaos and kills without feeling – not unlike how Alka has learned to kill in her work as an assassin. On her journey, Alka encounters three strange women, each great warriors in their own right, and grapples with her slain master’s wish that she leave the life of an assassin behind.
WIXOSS is a card game that’s popular with teenagers. Supposedly there exist “Rulig Cards,” female character cards with wills of their own. Special girls can hear the voices of the Ruligs, and those who possess them are called Selectors. These Selectors have card battles in a dimension that other humans cannot access. It’s said that whoever triumphs in these battles will have their wish granted. Ruko Kominato is the latest girl to find a Rulig card. She names hers Tama, and without any further explanation is thrown into her life as a Selector.
“Mushi”: the most basic forms of life in the world. They exist without any goals or purposes aside from simply “being.” They are beyond the shackles of the words “good” and “evil.” Mushi can exist in countless forms and are capable of mimicking things from the natural world such as plants, diseases, and even phenomena like rainbows.
This is, however, just a vague definition of these entities that inhabit the vibrant world of Mushishi, as to even call them a form of life would be an oversimplification. Detailed information on Mushi is scarce because the majority of humans are unaware of their existence.
So what are Mushi and why do they exist? This is the question that a “Mushi-shi,” Ginko, ponders constantly. Mushi-shi are those who research Mushi in hopes of understanding their place in the world’s hierarchy of life.
Ginko chases rumors of occurrences that could be tied to Mushi, all for the sake of finding an answer.
It could, after all, lead to the meaning of life itself…

Itsuka Shido is a high school boy. On the last day of the spring holidays, an explosion destroys the town and a girl in armor appears in front of him. Shido’s sister-in-law, Kotori, tells him that the girl is called “Special Disasterous Designated Creature: Spirit”, which causes a timespace quake. Kotori disclosed that she is the commander of the anti-spirit organization Ratatosk and orders him to go out on a date with the spirit girl. Kotori says, “I don’t ask you to beat the spirit. Just let her fall in love with you and save the world.”
